Belarus calls up 23 players for Macedonia test

Belarus; photo: ABFFNew Belarus manager Alyaksandr Mikalaevich Khatskevich announced his squad for their upcoming EURO qualifier against Macedonia.

Among the summoned players for Belarus are 3 debutants. The most famous name in Belarus’ team is Alyaksandr Hleb, known as Alexander in Europe. He is back on the national team after only playing twice last year due to a bad relationship with the former manager Heorhiy Pyatrovich Kandratsyew. Belarus will be without keeper Alyaksandr Hutar and striker Mikalay Signevich, both injured. Talented left winger Pavel Savitski wasn’t called up in order to be available for their U21 national team for the friendly encounter against Spain, while right back Aleh Veratsila, midfielders Syarhey Balanovich and attacker Vital’ Radzivonaw were left out.

Macedonia will host Belarus on 27 March at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon in Skopje, kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET. Macedonian national team coach Boshko Gjurovski will announce his squad early next week.
