Dragoljub Bekvalac, the manager who was champion with Rabotnicki wants one day to replace Jonuz and take charge of the Macedonian national team.
In an interview for OhridNews.com, the Serbian manager declared that he has a long time wish to be national team coach of Macedonia.
“Yes, my wish is to take charge of the Macedonian national team. Unofficuialy I was one of the candidates before Mirsad Jonuz was chosen as national team coach. That year I was proclaimed best manager in Macedonia and I think that the good results are telling enough so I could be national coach one day. I would be glad if I recieve a call from the Football federation of Macedonia. I know the mentality of the Macedonian people very well, I know the players and it will be a huge honor and great pleasure for me if one day I get the opportunity.”
Dragoljub Bekvalac (58 years old) was in charge of Rabotnicki during the season 2007/08 and managed to win the double, the First League and the Macedonian Cup. After Rabotnicki, he was at Hungarian side Győri ETO and now is in his home country leading Hajduk from Kula. Previously was in charge of Vojvodina and as a player used to play for Teteks.
