Recently, Romanian newspapers reported that Hapoel Tel Aviv had made an offer of €500.000 for Mirko Ivanovski. However, another Israeli club is closer in its desire to sign the Macedonian striker.
Beitar Jerusalem, a club that is currently in 9th place of the Israeli top division following the completing of 17 rounds, confirmed today that the club has been in contact with Astra about the transfer of Mirko Ivanovski. This is the following statement that was made on Friday by Beitar Jerusalem manager Ronny Levy, “We are in talks with Astra about the transfer of Ivanovski, but we have not reached a conclusion. It is true that I am interested in this player.”
Ronny Levy has previously coached in Romania, so he still has contacts within Romanian football which is where Ivanovski has been playing since the summer of 2012 with Astra. Mirko, however, did not receive much playing time over the past couple of months as he fell behind Portuguese striker Yazalde on the depth chart. Additionally, Astra also signed another striker in Denis Alibec during the current transfer window, so Ivanovski is expected to be sold by the end of January.
Beitar Jerusalem has now publicly expressed interest in Ivanovski, and Mirko could very well end up there if the two sides are able to agree on a transfer fee.
