The second half of the season resumed today in Romania and Baze Ilijoski, who signed with Brașov earlier in the winter transfer window, made a great introduction by scoring a brace in a narrow victory for his team.  Ilijoski opened the scoring in the 13th minute when he showed nice control with the ball before unleashing a powerful shot from the edge of the area past the diving Pandurii keeper.

The 1:0 lead carried into halftime but Pandurii then scored the equalizer in the 75th minute with a nice shot from outside of the box.  However, in the 78th minute, a Pandurii player used his hand inside and area and the referee pointed to the spot.  Ilijoski, despite playing his first league game for Brașov, took the penalty and calmly converted the spot kick as he went to his left while the keeper dove to the right.

Ilijoski joined Brașov as a free agent after his contract with Metalurg expired at the conclusion of the first half of the season.  Baze was tied for second in the Macedonian league with 10 goals and managed to carry that goalscoring form into Romania.  With today’s win, Brașov climbed to 10th place with 23 points while Pandurii remained in the 7th position with 30 points after 19 rounds.
