Shkendija was rumored to be showing heavy interest in the 24-year-old Armend Alimi but the player would prefer to remain abroad and has decided to train with Swedish side Örebro SK over the next week.  The club’s official website stated that Alimi will get to know the team and the surrounding environment during his week stay in Sweden.

Lennart Sjögren, the sports director of Örebro SK, stated the following, “This is not common practice but here is a very interesting player who we are privileged to come here.  He wants to become acquainted with the surrounding environment and team.  While he is here, we will have the opportunity to meet him and introduce our approach.”

If Alimi performs well in training over the next week, then he could decide to sign with the Swedish club.  Armend is currently a free agent after his contract with Croatian club Istra 1961 was mutually terminated in mid November of 2011.  Alimi has also made nine appearances for the Macedonian national team but has not been summoned to the squad under manager John Toshack.
