Armend Alimi left Swedish club Örebro SK as he terminated his contract who originally ran until 31.12.2014 and signed for Nea Salamis, the club managed by former Macedonian national team coach Mirsad Jonuz.

Before moving to Sweden Alimi played more than two years in Croatia for NK Istra 1961. The move to Sweden was intended as a career boost, unfortunately he couldn’t integrate very well to Swedish football and after three consecutive starts at the beginning of the season he was often moved to the bench. Moreover he suffered an injury which kept him away two months from the fields of play what additionally worsened the integration.

One of the reasons signing for Nea Salamis is the fact that Mirsad Jonuz is the coach of this Cypriot club. In the time Jonuz coached the Macedonian national team he several times called up Alimi, so the 25-year-old midfielder will have a coach who knows his qualities and has trust in him.
