Turbine Potsdam, the team of Natasha Andonova, reached the women’s German Cup final on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Natasha Andonova, undoubtedly Macedonia’s best female player, only played several minutes in Wednesday’s semi-final match, including stoppage time, after coming off the bench in the 89th minute. Turbine Potsdam narrowly edged FFC Frankfurt 2:1 to secure their spot in the final.
The women’s team of Wolfsburg will be the opponent of Turbine Potsdam in the German Cup final. Wolfsburg needed penalties to eliminate Freiburg in the other semi-final matchup.
As for Andonova, she has made 19 appearances for her club this season, scoring 3 goals in the process. She moved to Germany back in 2011 after impressing during her appearances with the Macedonian national team. Natasha is known for her good technique as she usually scores great goals based on her free kick abilities along with long range shots.
Besides the cup, Turbine Potsdam is also alive in the league race. They are currently in 4th place, but only trail top ranked Bayern München by four points. The top four positions are separated by those four points. Wolfsburg is in second place on the league standings, while FFC Frankfurt, the team Turbine Potsdam eliminated from the cup, finds itself in third place.
