Altona Magic wins 2014 Maso Cup

Altona Magic with the title; photo: Altona Magic SCAltona Magic defeated Bankstown City Lions in the final and for the second time in their history became the best Macedonian club in Australia.

The Altona Magic had a great run at the Maso Cup in Newscastle, only failing to win on one occasion during the 2:2 draw against Arncliffe Scots in the group stage. Apart from that, they won the rest of their games without conceding a goal. In the quarter-finals, Altona outplayed Queanbeyan City 3:0 and later ended the dreams of co-hosts Broadmeadow Magic in the semi-finals. Finally, in the final, they faced the 2012 winners Bankstown City Lions. The defending champions from 2013, Rockdale City Suns, slipped in the quarter-finals to be eliminated by Wollongong United.

With this triumph, Altona Magic (2008 and 2014) tied the Rockdale City Suns (2011 and 2013) with 2 Maso Cup titles, while Arncliffe Scots (2009) and Bankstown City Lions (2012) have celebrated one title.
