Alioski: I want to reach 100 NT caps, but I also want success, I’m not only interested in the number

At today’s press conference, in addition to the coach, Ezgjan Alioski was also present, who cheerfully answered journalists’ questions.

Alioski has played at the same stadium during his time at Fenerbahçe.

“It’s always nice to go back to where you played. But that doesn’t mean anything, we have a match with the national team, there will be many fans, we should enjoy it. Every match is a new experience, especially for the young players. We played well against Bosnia. I’m proud to wear the number 10, but the number doesn’t play on the field. I know who wore it. Bardhi isn’t here now, that’s why I took it, but when he comes back he’ll get it back.”

We informed Alioski that tomorrow’s match will be his 91st in the national team, and we asked him what that means for him and whether he plans to chase the 100th.

“For me, the national team is very important. I want to reach 100 matches, but God forbid I don’t get injured, the rest will come. I also want to have success, I’m not only interested in the number of matches.”

Currently, Alioski is in 4th place on the all-time list in terms of number of appearances, ahead of him are Aleksandar Trajkovski (98), Goce Sedloski (100) and Goran Pandev (122).

The Türkiye – Macedonia match will be played on Monday at Fenerbahçe’s Sukru Saraçoğlu stadium, starting at 18.30 Macedonian time, and 19.30 local time.
