Aleksandar Vasoski close to joining Najran SC

Former Macedonian international Aleksandar Vasoski is on the verge of signing with Najran SC from Saudi Arabia.

Macedonian central defender Aleksandar Vasoski is close to continuing his career with Najran SC.  The club from Saudi Arabia is managed by Macedonian Gjoko Hadzievski who was instrumental in recommending the experienced Vasoski to the management of the club.  Vasoski was rumored as a potential new signing for Vardar earlier this summer but the Macedonian club could not compete financially with Najran.  Vasoski is nearing the end of his career and decided to take the best offer made for his services.  Vasoski is 31 but he has had numerous knee surgeries throughout his career and is expected to play for a couple more years.  He even contemplated retirement this summer but decided he still had the urge to play the game of football.

Vasoski spent the past six years with German club Eintracht Frankfurt.  He made 98 appearances and scored three goals.  When healthy, Vasoski was a solid contributor but the problem has always been injuries as he missed a lot of games during his stint with Eintracht Frankfurt.  The club was relegated this past season and decided not the renew the contract of Vasoski as they looked to get younger.

Vasoski had 33 caps for the Macedonian national team and scored two goals.  Citing his injuries, Vasoski retired from the international team in 2010 and was subsequently honored by the Football Federation of Macedonia during a friendly against Cameroon earlier this year.
