Earlier today Akademija Pandev announced that they have signed an agreement with Balkan TV sports power house Sport Klub. The company has bought the rights for every home match of Akademija Pandev for the domestic 1.MFL and Macedonian Cup and will soon start broadcasting live matches on one of its many channels. In Macedonia, Sport Klub features 6 channels, but depending on the TV operator.
It is unknown now much will the club earn for selling the TV rights, but nevertheless, it is a huge success as no Macedonian football club has managed to do any similar thing so far. Sport Klub bought the rights for the next 3 seasons, starting with the current one.
It is also unknown from which match will Sport Klub start broadcasting, but we guess that it will be from the Round 8 match when Akademija Pandev hosts Shkupi on the 26th of this month.
Sport Klub also broadcasts the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, including the matches involving Macedonia.
Akademija Pandev was one of the two clubs (the other being Shkendija) that denied the deal reached by FFM and ArenaSport for broadcasting the 1.MFL matches this season. With this new deal, Pandev’s club will get much more TV space.
