Attacker Aco Stojkov, a proven player in the Macedonian league, became the first summer signing for Vardar.
After a disappointing stint in Albania where he failed to cement a regular starting spot for Skënderbeu, veteran striker Aco Stojkov has decided to return to Macedonia. The official website of Vardar announced that Stojkov signed a 3 year contract, thus returning to one of his former clubs.

Stojkov, 32, has a proven track record in the domestic league. Before signing with Skënderbeu, he spent six months with Rabotnichki where he was arguably the best player in the league. So, he should be a good signing domestically for Vardar, but they will also be counting on Aco in the Champions League qualifications.
Vardar desperately needed players who can be fielded on the wings. Their options there are putrid. They only have youngsters in Jasir Asani and Petar Petkovski who were up and down in their performances this season. Thus, Stojkov should be a welcome addition.
