The return legs of the 1/8 finals of the Macedonian Cup are on the schedule for this midweek.
From the eight games, half are already decided, but the other half promise excitement. Most interesting should be in Turnovo where Metalurg is visiting. The first leg in Skopje ended in a 3:3 draw, so the visitors will have to attack from the first minute.
Also the game in Shtip will be intense as Shkendija travels away to Bregalnica with a 1:0 lead from the game played in Tetovo. Nearly a month ago, Shkendija managed to play a goalless draw away to Bregalnica in the League and surely will want to repeat that result today.
Sileks and Drita should have easier tasks, but still will have to work out and beat their opponents. Sileks is hosting Third League North side Bashkimi, and after the 1:1 from the first leg, the Kratovo based club can advance even with a goalless draw. Drita already played 0:0 away in Prilep against Second League side Pobeda Junior and now they must win in order to advance.
Both Teteks and Vardar have a 2:0 advantage from the first legs against the two Second League participants Lokomotiva and Gorno Lisiche. But, they must not get to comfortable as this results isn’t unbeatable. Teteks chose to be host in the nearby village of Brvenica as both them and Renova are host in this round and share the same Gradski stadium in Tetovo. One of the could have played on Thursday, but both decided against that in order to a day more of resting before the First League matches this weekend.
The other two games promise no excitement as Pelister and cup holders Renova have a 5:0 advantage over Babi and 11 Oktomvri and we can already name them among the participants in the 1/4 finals. Babi will host Pelister on Thursday as they have the same problem as in Tetovo, they share the Gradski stadium in Shtip with Bregalnica. Therefore, Pelister decided to travel with their reserve and youth players in order to rest the standard players for the First League Derby of Macedonia against Vardar on Sunday.
