The oldest active Macedonian club has been renewed with a new logo, reviving the recognizable symbol from the 1960s.

Following the example of many clubs around the world, including a handful of giants, the Tetovo based club decided to use a modernized version of its logo from the 1960s, when Ljuboten played in the leagues of the former Yugoslavia.

The logo, although simple, has a lot of originality to it. “The past inspires us, the future unites us,” the club announced.

Ljuboten is the oldest active club in Macedonia, formed on 28 March 1919. In the year it celebrated its 100th anniversary, Ljuboten was admitted to the Club of Pioneers, which is led by the English side Sheffield, the oldest club in the world.

Unfortunately, the oldest Macedonian club has been stuck in the third league for years, where it finished second to last last year.

Ljuboten also has a women’s football team that is a 4-time champion of Macedonia and a 3-time winner of the Macedonian Cup.
