Russia first test for new U21 NT coach

A friendly match against Russia in Skopje at the end of September will be the first match for new U21 national team coach Aleksandar Tanevski.

Our U21 national team has two matches left to play in the 2027 EURO qualifiers – against Montenegro at home on 01 October and away to Sweden later on the 5th. Before that, on 28 September, a friendly against Russia will be played in Skopje.

This was confirmed by the Russian Football Union. The match will be played in Skopje at the Petar Miloshevski Training Center, probably the Field 2. The kick-off will be 17.00 CET.

The Russian U21 national team will arrive in Skopje on the 26th and on the 29th will head to Stara Pazova where will play twice against Serbia.

Russian coach Ivan Shabarov already summoned a list of 37 players. Russia is still playing only friendly matches as it is under suspension by UEFA for the military intervention in Ukraine.
