Samir Fazli scored a goal for Heerenveen in today’s 4:0 win over Rapid Bucureşti in the UEFA Europa League qualifications.
Heerenveen and Rapid Bucureşti played the first leg of their third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. This match was of particular interest to Macedonian fans since both teams feature a Macedonian player in their respective squad. Heerenveen has Samir Fazli under contract, while Bazhe Ilijoski plays for Rapid. The former had a better night as Heerenveen won convincingly with Fazli also reaching the back of the net.
Fazli scored the last goal for his club in the 89th minute. He had just entered the match in the 86th minute and scored several minutes later when he controlled a through ball from Sven Kums before firing a shot past the opposing keeper. Bazhe Ilijoski, on the other hand, got the start for Rapid and played until the 63th minute when he was substituted by Dorin Goga.
The return leg is scheduled for next week in Romania with Heerenveen holding a big advantage.
