For the first time in its history Preston Lions claimed the Maso Cup tournament after defeating Sydney Makedonija in the grand final played today.

The Lions were this year’s hosts and won all matches in the tournament. They advanced from their group with maximum points and without conceding a goal and managed to keep their sheet clean in the semifinal and final as well.
The surprise of this 16th edition was the team of Sydney Makedonija, who topped its group ahead of Altona Magic and eliminated holder Rockdale Ilinden in the semifinal, before falling against the Lions in the final match.
The Macedonian anthem was played before the final match.
