Macedonia will first play a friendly against Saudi Arabia on neutral ground in Prague on 4 September, and three days later will host Liechtenstein in Skopje in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Coach Milevski has called up 26 players for this gathering, including two debutants. The first is the one the fans were already been talking about – 22-year-old Reshat Ramadani from Shkëndija, who plays in the defensive midfield. He played all the minutes for Shkëndija in the European qualifiers this summer.
The second is 23-year-old Elmin Rastoder from Swiss top flight side Thun, who was born in Switzerland and is a relative of former national team player Adis Jahovikj. He plays as a central forward and has a goal and an assist in 4 matches in the Swiss league this season, both last weekend in the 4:0 victory over Zürich.
“Reshat Ramadani, with his performances on the international stage with Shkëndija, has fully deserved this call-up. We need such a type of player in the national team, but it depends on him how much he will impose himself and how useful he will be. He will get a chance to prove how tactically, physically and mentally prepared he is. As for Rastoder, I hope that with him we will gain quality in the attack. He played excellently this season in Thun, and his performances in the last season were no less high-quality,” said Milevski at today’s press-conference.
Agon Elezi is out with a shoulder injury, while Jovan Manev, Stefan Ashkovski and Bojan Dimoski were left out due to their club situation.
