The transfer saga surrounding Vance Sikov is finally over as he has agreed to a deal with Ukrainian club Volyn from Lutsk.

After all the speculation surrounding Vance Sikov, he has decided on a new team and it will be Volyn who finished 11th place this past season in the Ukrainian top division.  There were rumors of Sheffield Wednesday being interested in Sikov but those rumors proved false and Sikov will indeed join the Ukrainian league which gets better every year.  Keep in mind that fellow Macedonian internationals Goran Popov, Martin Bogatinov, Mario Gjurovski, and Besart Ibraimi also play their club football in Ukraine.

Sikov recently got married in his hometown Kavadarci and felt it was the right time to challenge himself in a tougher league after spending three years in Cyprus with Ethnikos Achnas.  He will turn 26 in about one month and Sikov is a natural CB although he has played RB for the national team due to problems at that position.  Sikov is a tall defender who is very good in the air.  He was also responsible for taking free kicks from distance for Ethnikos Achnas and scored one stunning goal from a long free kick.  Sikov has recently become a regular for the Macedonian national team and has scored two goals in 12 appearances, both goals coming on headers following corner kicks.

Despite his age, Sikov has a rich international experience as he has spent most of his career in Greece and Cyprus.  The replacement for Sikov at Ethnikos Achnas could be fellow Macedonian Zlatko Tanevski who is drawing strong interest from the Cypriot club.
