Ferhan Hasani, this season’s champions’ top goalscorer, gets MacedonianFootball.com best player award.
Ferhan Hasani – Buba, Shkendija’s top goalscorer is the winner of the best player award for season 2010/11 given by MacedonianFootball.com. His 13 goals, his excellent matches, his amazing free-kicks, his contributions for the title, his call for the national team – these are the factors that made us give him this award and we think it is absolutely deserving.
For this occasion, MacedonianFootball.com were guests on the match between Shkendija and Metalurg and handed Hasani the award during the half-time break. Besides the award, we made an interview with Hasani which follows in the text.
MF: When and where have You started Your football career?
FH: I have started my career in my current club Shkendija, when I was only 8 years old.
MF: You have become champions with Shkendija in the very same season when Shkendija managed to promote from second league. You played an amazing season and scored a lot of goals. What are the secrets behind this?
FH: Well, there are a lot of things which contribute to this. First of all, we have stable sponsor, then we have great preparations, hard work and team play, excellent atmosphere between the players, strong support by the fans etc. We played great as a team and this success is shared by everyone in this club.
MF: What is Your natural position on the field? Where can You play best?
FH: I have played most of the matches this season down the left flank as an offensive player and I think this is the position that suits me the best.
MF: Which is Your favorite goal and match?
FH: My favorite goal is the one against Vardar which I scored it from a free-kick, while my favorite match this season is the one against Renova which we won 4-1.
MF: What are the chances of the U21 national team for the following qualifications tournament?
FH: I think we have a really good squad and we are led by a young, quality coach. We have realistic chances in the following qualifications and I am sure the success will be inevitable.
MF: Recently, You have been called up to the national team for the match against Republic of Ireland. What are Macedonia’s chances for that match and do You expect to play?
FH: I appreciate the call to the national team a lot and I am very thankful for that. I think the good matches in Shkendija’s shirt were decisive for this call. It is up to the coach if I am going to play or not, but if I am given the chance I will surely use it as best as I can.
MF: Hajduk Split reportedly showed interest in You. Is there a chance for You to be wearing the famous Croatian club shirt from next season?
FH: At the moment I am not very affected by that situation. I still have to finish the season (please note the interview was done before the last match against Metalurg) and then we will see how things stand. Nevertheless, I have people who are working for me in that matter. But, I have to mention that it is really flattering for me that club like Hajduk is showing interest.
MF: What are Your plans for the future? Where do You see Yourself in 5 years?
FH: Well, that depends of the football luck I will have in the future. However, with a really hard work I see myself in a major European league where I can prove my talent and improve further.
MF: What are Shkendija’s ambitions for following season? Will You be in the club for Champions League qualification phase?
FH: Shkendija is surely not stopping here. This club will be one of the top candidates for the title in the coming seasons and that is for sure. Shkendija will prove that this title was not by chance, but it came deservedly. Everything considered, I will probably not be at the club for too long, but that doesn’t mean that Shkendija will not have success in Champions League. This club is much more than just one player and that will be proven soon.
MF: And, final question. Your nickname is Buba and everyone knows You that way. How did that came up?
FH: Until 15 years, I was very small and fast. Buba in Albanian is a small insect, like a fly, and that is why my friends started calling me Buba – because of the speed and being considerably smaller then I am now.
Buba Hasani is 20 years old and everyone is predicting excellent career ahead of him. He is one of the regulars in U21 national team but also got a call for the seniors for the match against Ireland. In season 2010/11, he played on 27 matches for his club and scored 13 goals, being top goalscorer in the first-placed team. MacedonianFootball.com gives the best player award for season 2010/11 to Ferhan Hasani. We wish him best of luck in his career and many successful matches in the Macedonian national team.
