Macedonian First League – Round 33

Prva LigaAnother season ended. Shkendija celebrated their first championship and received the trophy at front of their fans. Former giants Vardar and Pelister played their last First League game as from next season they’ll be playing in the Second League.

Shkendija played a draw at home against second-placed Metalurg, but the result wasn’t important because everyone were expecting the big celebration after the final whistle. This is the first title for the team from Tetovo and they will be representing Macedonia in the Champions League qualifications this summer, starting in the 1st round. Metalurg as Cup winners will go into the Europa League where will start from the 2nd round, while third-placed Renova and 4th Rabotnicki will start from the 1st round. The First League will be poorer for former giants Vardar and Pelister who are relegated, while Napredok and Skopje will have to play into the play-off against the 3rd and 4th placed teams from the Second League.
