Spanish national team manager Vicente del Bosque announced the squad for their upcoming EURO qualifier against Macedonia and a friendly against France.
Spain will first play a friendly against France in Paris as one final test before the beginning of the qualifications for EURO 2016. Four days later, on 8 September in Valencia, la Furia Roja will host Macedonia in the opening round of the qualifications. Del Bosque called up 5 debutantes (Casilla, San José, Carvajal, Raúl García and Paco Alcácer), while he dropped Pepe Reina, Gerard Piqué, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres who were part of the fiasco at their poor showing in Brazil this summer. Due to injuries, Javi Martínez, Jesús Navas and Thiago Alcântara are absent, while Xavi Hernández, Xabi Alonso and David Villa retired from the national team after the World Cup. Previously, Macedonia also named its squad for this qualifier.
