The 2023 U21 EURO will be hosted by Romania and Georgia and is set to take place in June 2023. Additionally to the 2 hosts nations, 14 more are to qualify through the qualifications tournament: the 9 group winners and 5 of the second placed teams. Macedonia was located in the fourth pot for the draw (out of six pots in total) and got drawn in the following group:
Group H
France
Serbia
Ukraine
Macedonia
Faroe Islands
Armenia
Needless to say, this will be a quite difficult group where Macedonia will have a very tough job competing for one of the top 2 places. However, the hopes still remain that the young lions will manage to surprise and repeat the success from the 2017 U21 EURO qualifiers, where interestingly Macedonia also faced France and Ukraine in that qualification group as well.
In the upcoming weeks, coach Blagoja Milevski and FFM are expected to define and announce the playing schedule together with the representatives from the other national teams.
