2.MFL overview of Round 25

Voska Sport with a stunning finish defeated Vardar in the derby of this round and sent them outside the promotion zone.

Ohrid was the place where today took place the big derby between the top two teams. Unfortunately, the home team jealous that does not have a ultras group, first forbid Vardar’s Komiti to attend the game and later even decided the match to be played behind closed doors.A real shame for the Macedonian football, a promotion derby to be played without spectators. Nevertheless, Komiti did show up and 90 minutes sang songs from outside the ground.

Even with 10 men Vardar managed to take the lead three minutes before the break thanks to Papuli who was the most concentrated after a ruble in the home box. The visitors were keeping the lead until the stoppage time. When everyone thought that Vardar would take the points, Jasharoski equalized and quickly after that Adem scored a winner.

The winning goal:

Since third-placed Gostivar won, they took over the runners-up spot from Vardar, who are now third, a placed that leads into the promotion play-off against the 10th-placed from the top flight (currently Skopje).

Pelister recorded another defeat, 5th this season, and with 5 round left they are 5 points behind Vardar’s play-off spot. Vardar hosts Pelister in the second to last round.

The battle for avoiding relegation is also interesting. Sasa won, while Lokomotiva lost, so they are now tied on points. Sloga 1934 and Teteks shared the points, a result that doesn’t suit both of them, leaving both in the danger zone.

The next round is scheduled for Wednesday.
