The Board of clubs asked the Football Federation of Macedonia to change the regulations regarding the number of available reserve players per match. The number until now was 7 with 5 substitutions allowed per match.

FFM responded positively and from now on every team will be allowed to feature 11 players at the bench. This will give the coaches wider options during the matches and also will benefit younger players who could find themselves at the benches more frequently and enter a match if their team would have a decent lead, for example.

In most of the European leagues the number of bench players is 12 for some time now. Remains unknown why FFM opted for the number 11 instead of 12, but nevertheless, it’s good news.
