1.MFL national team players performances

During this October national team break unusually high number of domestic league players were summoned in various national teams. this is how they performed for their teams.

Five foreign players were called up in five different national teams, while three were summoned for Macedonia. Additionally, many young players were called up in the youth Macedonian national teams.

Foreign 1.MFL players

Rogers Mato (Vardar/Uganda)

Botswana – Uganda 0:1
Mato played the full match for Uganda, who with this win stayed in position to fight for a place in the African play-offs for the 2026 World Cup.

Algeria Algeria – Uganda 2:1
Mato started and was substituted in the 7th minute of the injury time, two minute before Algeria scored a penalty kick winning goal. Unfortunately, this defeat sent Uganda in the bottom half of the table for the runners-up of all qualifying groups and therefore missed a place in the play-offs.

Baboucarr Gaye (Shkëndija/Gambia)

Gambia – Gabon 3:4
Goalkeeper Gaye played the entire match for Gambia in which he conceded for goals, all of them by star player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Seychelles – Gambia 0:7
Gaye watched this match from the bench. Gambia had already lost the chances of reaching the play-off and at the end finished third in its World Cup qualifying group.

Warsama Hassan (Brera Strumica/Djibouti)

Djibouti – Egypt 0:3
Hassan started for the hosts wearing the #10 and played until the 85th minute when he was taken off, a minute after Mohamed Salah set the final score.

Djibouti – Sierra Leone 1:2
Again Hassan started and played until the 89th minute. He picked up a yellow card in the 62nd minute. His Djibouti finished at the bottom of the qualifying group with only a point. Djibouti hosted both matches in Morocco.

Klisman Cake (Shkëndija/Albania)

Serbia Serbia – Albania Albania 0:1
Central defender Cake got his first call for Albania and as a debutante spent the match at the bench. His team shocked Serbia away, winning important points in the battle for the second place that leads in the play-offs.

Albania Albania – Jordan 4:2
Cake debuted for Albania in this friendly match by coming in as a substitute during the half-time break when the score was 1:1

Habibulla Askar (Bashkimi 1947/Afghanistan)

Pakistan – Afghanistan 0:0
Askar started as left back for Afghanistan and played until the 71st minute when he was substituted, few minutes after Pakistan failed to convert a penalty kick.

Afghanistan – Pakistan 1:1
Again Askar started as left back and this time played the full match, but got a yellow card in the 57th minute. These were qualifying matches for the 2025 Asian Cup and after four rounds Afghanistan with only 2 points has no chance to qualify.

David Babunski (Vardar)

Belgium Belgium – Macedonia Macedonia 0:0
Ilievski served a yellow card suspension, Babunski watched the match from the bench, while Ramadani did not make the match day squad.

Macedonia Macedonia – Kazakhstan Kazakhstan 1:1
Ilievski played the entire match as right back and was the best player in the Macedonian team. He never lost a duel, made several driblings and crossed many times. Babunski again watched the match from the bench, while Ramadani again did not make the match day squad.
