Macedonian internationals/potentials performances (15-18.01.2021)

In a match that saw 6 Macedonian internationals take part, Stefan Spirovski brought a penalty for AEK that was then taken by Ivan Trichkovski but saved by the opponent’s goalkeeper Damjan Shishkovski, internationals Daniel Avramovski and Kristijan Toshevski as well as potentials Stefan Cholakovski and Nedim Bajrami all provided an assist for their respective clubs, while just like Shishkovski, Filip Gachevski also saved a penalty and kept a clean sheet for his club in Cyprus.

Right back Blagoja Todorovski played another full game for Teuta, while Bobi Celeski and Borjan Panchevski remained as backup goalkeepers for their respective clubs.

All four Macedonian played involved in the match made the start for their team. Agim Ibraimi played the entire game for the home side, as did Mevlan Adili and Aleksandar Isaevski by the visitors, whereas their teammate Demir Imeri got taken off during the stoppage time. Ibraimi, Isaevski and Imeri all three picked up a yellow card throughout the match.

Centre back Egzon Belica played another full game for Partizani as usual.

Albania, Kategoria Superiore, Tirana – Kastrioti 2:1
Both Filip Najdovski and Kristijan Toshevski served for 90 minutes as part of Tirana’s defence line in the 2:1 win against Kastrioti. Toshevski was also directly involved in the win as he provided the assist for their first goal in the 34th minute, which equalized on 1:1. This was Kristijan’s first assist this season for Tirana.

Australia, Hyundai A-League, Sydney – Western Sydney Wanderers 1:1
Daniel Georgievski remained an unused substitute in the encounter against Sydney.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Charleroi – Mechelen 0:1
Gjoko Zajkov was once again sidelined by the hosts due to an injury that he recently picked up during a training.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, Doxa – AEK 0:0
Memorable game happened in Cyprus as 6 Macedonian internationals faced each other in the match between Doxa and AEK. Damjan Shishkovski and Dushko Trajchevski started for the hosts, as did Stefan Spirovski and Ivan Trichkovski for the visitors. After 30 minutes of play, Spirovski got fauled during a corner delivery and the referee pointed at the spot. AEK captain Trichkovski took the responsibility to take the penalty, but Shishkovski came out as a winner by saving the shot. After 69 minutes, Spirovski got taken off by AEK and only 8 minutes later his teammate Daniel Mojsov entered the game. Finally in the 82nd minute, Darko Glishikj also entered the field to make his debut for Doxa after completing his transfer from Shkupi to Cyprus this week. In the end, the big clash between our internationals ended in clean sheet for Shishkovski and a 0:0 tie, despite there being one penalty given on each side.

Both Davor Zdravkovski from AEL and Filip Gachevski from Enosis played the entire game, and Filip ended up being the winner between the two. Not only did Enosis win by 1:0, but Gachevski also saved a penalty which ended up being crucial for winning the 3 points in this match.

Martin Bogatinov and Jovan Kostovski both made the start for Ethnikos. Martin played the entire game, while Jovan got substituted in the 60th minute. Ethnikos ended up suffering a 2:0 loss through two own goals.

Ezgjan Alioski made another start for Leeds and played for 67 minutes, but Bielsa’s team suffered another disappointing loss.

Darko Churlinov was a healthy scratch by the hosts.

Italy, Serie A, Atalanta – Genoa 0:0
Goran Pandev finally made a comeback from his injury and entered the field for Genoa in the 68th minute.

Italy, Serie A, Napoli – Fiorentina 6:0
Elif Elmas entered the game for Napoli in the 73rd minute as his team destroyed Fiorentina by 6:0. The first five goals were already scored by the time Elif got introduced.

Ilija Nestorovski made a late substitute appearance for Udinese when he entered the field i the 84th minute.

Italy, Serie B, Reggina – Lecce 0:1
Leonard Zhuta played another full match for Lecce as a left back.

Portugal, Liga NOS, Sporting – Rio Ave 1:1
Stefan Ristovski remained out of action by Sporting CP.

Romania, Liga I Betano, Politehnica – Botoșani 0:1
Stefan Ashkovski made the start for the visitors and lasted 80 minutes on the pitch.

Romania, Liga I Betano, UTA – Viitorul 0:0
David Babunski immediately found himself on the bench for Viitorul right after completing his transfer, but he will be awaiting the next rounds of the league to make the debut for his new club.

Spain, Copa del Rey, Fuenlabrada – Levante 1:1 (2:4 pen.)
Enis Bardi remained sidelined by Levante as his teammates finally defeated Fuenlabrada after a penalty shootout.

Spain, Copa del Rey, Rayo Vallecano – Elche 2:0
Stole Dimitrievski finally returned on Rayo’s goal and he kept a clean sheet in the 2:0 win against Elche.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Antalyaspor – Trabzonspor 1:1
Adis Jahovikj made a late substitute appearance for Antalyaspor after he entered the game in the 83rd minute.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Kasımpaşa – Erzurum 1:2
The 17 year old left winger Berat Kalkan did not get summoned by the hosts.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Gaziantep – Kayserispor 2:1
Daniel Avramovski made his third consecutive start for Kayserispor and this time he also pick up his first assist of the season, after a nice corner kick delivery. However, 15 minutes after that equalizer his teammates gave away a poor penalty which resulted in a second goal for the hosts, and a 2:1 loss for Kayserispor. Avramovski lasted 86 minutes on the pitch as he got substituted in the final minutes of the game.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Konyaspor – Göztepe 2:3
Erdon Daci remained an unsused substitute for this encounter. Daci has been in a rather good form lately, but he is still not a consistent starter for Konyaspor.

Right after joining the new club, Stênio Júnior* immediately made his first appearance for Partizani this weekend after entering the game in the 82nd minute.

Both Stefan Cholakovski from the home side and Dylan Pierias by the visitors started the match on the bench, and they entered the field together in the 73rd minute. Only 11 minutes later, Cholakovski also provided an assist to set the final score of 2:1 and bring Melbourne City the victory against Dylan’s Western United.

Ben Kantarovski was once again not summoned by Newcastle Jets.

Erdin Demir was sidelined by Zulte Waregem due to an injury, but his teammates had easy job handling Waasland-Beveren by defeating them 1:5.

Italy, Serie B, Chievo – Virtus Entella 2:1
Daniel Pavlev watched from the bench as his team defeated Virtus Entella.

Italy, Serie B, Empoli – Salernitana 5:0
Nedim Bajrami played the opening 65 minutes of the match and he also provided the assist for the fourth goal of the game.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Konyaspor – Göztepe 2:3
Goalie Erten Ersu did not get summoned by Konyaspor for this encounter.

 

*Despite not having Macedonian origin, Stênio Júnior is also eligible for representing Macedonia due to having had over 5 years residency in the country.
