For the third consecutive year, Metalurg claimed the Macedonian Youth Cup after trashing Shkupi in the final.
The youth team of Metalurg has displayed total dominance in the U19 Cup of Macedonia for the last three years. Today, Metalurg lifted the cup trophy for a third consecutive time. They were superior against Shkupi, totally outplaying their opponents to win 3:0.
After only ten minutes into the game, Metalurg took the lead. A free kick by Sashe Shoposki reached Vlatko Stojanovski who sent his effort to the back of the net. Naumche Bakracheski doubled the lead for Metalurg in the 18th minute. That lead would remain at the halftime break, although it could have been worse for Shkupi. The second half was no different as Metalurg continued its dominance. They managed one more goal in the 68th minute when Stojanovski recorded a brace. Near the end, Shkupi was left with 10 men as Bunjamin Ameti was shown a red card for a brutal challenge on Adrian Chavoli.
Metalurg’s coach Vlatko Kolev said the following after the game: “We proved once again that we are the most dominant youth team in Macedonia. We deserved this victory in every aspect. We dominated the game, we created chances and we scored goals. I want to congratulate the players as they played like we talked about, without underestimating the opponent. This is a reward for all the work that we put in the youth categories. The players are well aware that only through good results and success they can develop, and that makes me proud as their coach.”
