Yani Urdinov to go on trial at Mechelen

Yani Urdinov will spend the next week on trial at Mechelen, hoping to convince the team of his qualities.

Yani Urdinov has been given permission from his current team Roda to look for another club.  As a matter of fact, all three Macedonians who were members of Roda last season, Yani Urdinov and the Stankov twins, have been told to look for other clubs.  Antonio Stankov recently joined Dutch second division club FC Oss on loan and Urdinov will be hoping to latch on with Mechelen from Belgium.  Urdinov was actually born in Mechelen but he decided to represent Macedonia internationally as he comes from Macedonian descent.  Aleksandar Stankov was also on trial with FC Oss but he was not offered a contract and his future team is uncertain at this point.

Urdinov and the Stankov twins are all members of the Macedonian U21 national team.  Urdinov does provide versatility as he has the ability to play as both a defender and midfielder.  He was not in the future plans of Roda so it’s probably best for both sides to go their separate ways.  Urdinov is now 20 years old and it’s vital at that age to receive regular playing time in order to continue developing as a player.  Yani is expected to be a key player for the upcoming qualifications for the U21 national team and hopefully his trial with Mechelen will prove successful.
