Women U19: Macedonia – Georgia 3:2

Macedonian women U19 national team managed to celebrate a win against Georgian counterparts in the dying minutes of the match.

Following the two defeats, Macedonian women U19 national team had nothing to play for except pride against Georgia. The match started well for Macedonia, with Todorovska opening the score in 5th minute. However, just 2 minutes later Gorgadze equalized and 1:1 was the active score until 86th minute. As the match was nearing its’ end, the excitements started. First, Adjuleska took a penalty kick after Ristovska was fouled in the box but only managed to hit the post. Than, Georgia took the lead through Cheminava in 86th minute. However, Macedonia did not gave up and Todorovska’s second goal of the match in 92nd minute tied the game. But, that was not the end. Four minutes into injury time Jakovska managed to score the game winning goal and set the final score of 3:2 for Macedonia.

Macedonia: Arsova; Shabani, Tapovska, Veselinova, Saltirova, Stojkovska (75′ Gjosheva), Ristovska, Jakovska, Adili (46′ Mitrevska), Todorovska, Adjuleska.

Scotland had no problems defeating Romania in the other match and in the end they celebrated a huge 8:0 win.

Macedonia did not manage to qualify to the Elite Round as only the group winners and 10 best second-placed teams qualify.
