Women friendly: Macedonia – Montenegro 0:7

The women’s national team of Macedonia, even with a new coach, continued the bad results with a heavy 7:0 defeat against Montenegro.

The senior women’s national teams of Macedonia and Montenegro played the first of the two scheduled friendlies in Skopje on Tuesday. The visiting team came in and made easy work of their Macedonian counterparts by winning 7:0. The result could have been worse as Montenegro had numerous other scoring chances, while Macedonia created just two opportunities.

This was the debut for new national team coach Vancho Balevski who, obviously, won’t have good memories of his first game in charge. The fact that Macedonia played without several key players like Natasha Andonova, Afrodita Salihi and Simona Krstanoska should not be an excuse for this debacle.

Both teams will play another friendly tomorrow at 11.00 CET. These games are being used as preparations for Macedonia prior to the start of the 2017 EURO qualifications in September.
