According to today’s FIFA World Ranking, Macedonia is placed in the second to bottom Pot for the World Cup 2014 qualifications.
FIFA released the newest ranking list and Macedonia moved two places up, but that wasn’t enough to move up pots as it is stuck in the Pot 5. Macedonia remains the worst nation of the Balkans and one of the worst in the whole of Europe, thanks to the bad results in the past two years.

There will be 9 groups. 8 of them will have 6 teams, while 1 will have 5 teams. The nine group winners will qualify directly to the 2014 World Cup, and the eight best runners-up will be drawn in two-legged play-offs to determine the other four qualifying nations.
The draw will be held in Rio de Janeiro on 30 July 2011.
