Today, UEFA drew the opponents for the league phase of the Women’s World Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Brazil in 2027.
Macedonia will start the qualifiers from League C, Group C3. The matches in this phase will be played in March, April and June 2026.
The winners of the six groups in League C, as well as the two best-ranked second-placed teams, will have the opportunity to secure a place in the World Cup through play-off matches with the second and third-placed teams from League A. These play-offs will be played in October and November 2026, followed by intercontinental play-offs in February 2027.
The Macedonian women’s national football team will seek its place in the play-offs through Group C3, where our opponents will be Hungary, Azerbaijan and Andorra.
So far, Macedonia played two times against Azerbaijan (both defeats in 2008 and 2009) and once against Hungary (defeat in 2014). This will the first time for Macedonian girls to play against Andorra.
