Today, the Macedonian women’s national team played its first friendly match against Russia. The match took place at the Blagoj Istatov stadium in Strumica and ended 2:0 in favor of visiting team.

The scoring opened in the 10th minute. Polina Yuklyayeva received a short pass from the corner flag, entered the penalty area, and fired into the near corner. Russia scored its second goal in the stoppage time, when a shot by Marine Achoyan, who was making her debut for the national team in this match, was headed in by Azaliya Zalmiyeva.
Also today, a match between the women’s youth teams of Macedonia and Russia took place at the Kukush stadium in Turnovo, which ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Russian team.
The second friendly match will be played on October 27, at 14:00 CET.
