Macedonia is defeated by Azerbaijan at the start of the World Cup 2027 qualifiers.

The Macedonian national team continued the tradition of negative results against Azerbaijan and started this qualifiers with a defeat. Azerbaijan was the better team throughout the match and deservedly won. The Macedonian girls was lucky not to lose with a higher score. A few shots from distance, primarily from set pieces, are what they managed to do for a whole match. Sevinj Jafarzade scored a brace and led her team to the first three points in the group.

The next match for Macedonia is on March 7 against Andorra in Bitola.
