Vardar beats Pelister in Derby of Macedonia (Video)

Juan Felipe celebrates in Bitola; photo: FK VardarVardar celebrated in Bitola to claim the biggest Macedonian derby who was twice interrupted due to incidents. Shkendija, Rabotnichki and Sileks won, Makedonija GjP and Bregalnica split the points.

A snowy field in Bitola welcomed the two most famous Macedonian teams in what is known as the biggest footballing derby in this country of all times. After only 9 minutes of play Vardar took the lead through Brazilian trequartista Juan Felipe who ended Pelister’s incredibly run of 7 league games without conceding a goal. Only two minutes later the home ultras hit the second assistant Dejan Kostadinov with a snowball right in the head which lead to the match being interrupted for exactly 32 minutes.

Pelister failed to score an equalizer and eventually lost game. Meanwhile, there was another interruption in the second half, but a much shorter as it was due to offensive chant towards the main referee. The home crowd was very unsatisfied with how Stavrev lead the game. Its the first defeat for Pelister after the Round 9 loss to Shkendija at this very same venue.

Pobeda took an early lead in Skopje against Rabotnichki, but the home side turn the result around and at the end won the points. After a score of 1:1 on half-time, in a period of just three minute from 64th till 67th minute Rabotnichki decided the winner. It must be mentioned the new great goal that Najdenov scored, the second for his team.

Another snowy game took place today. Sileks defeated Shkupi who came to Kratovo with a new coach after Visar Ganiu resigned. The team was lead by his assistant and former attacker Ardijan Nuhiji. Nedeljković was the man who decided the winner with his goal in the 65th minute.

The biggest relegation favourites, bottom placed Bregalnica and second to last Makedonija GjP played a draw, outcome that is in favor to none of them. Splitting the points brought them a step closer to Pobeda and Shkupi, but still they have to start winning in order to catch them.

Shkendija beat its neighbour Renova with 2:1. The hosts scored their goal only after Shkendija doubled the lead, deep into the injury time when it was too late for anything more.
