Along with the head of European football, the delegation also includes Zoran Laković (Director of National Associations at UEFA), as well as Denis Bastari (Head of National Association Development at UEFA).
As part of his visit to our country, Čeferin held a meeting at the highest level with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the Minister of Sports, Borko Ristovski, followed by a working meeting at the House of Football. Goran Pandev and Agim Ibraimi also attended the meeting.
“Today I had a meeting with UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin, where we discussed the vision, development and prospects of football. We continue with a strong commitment to creating conditions for progress, investment and new opportunities for young talents.” – said Prime Minister Mickoski.
The President of FFM, Omeragić, emphasized the importance of the visit, with special emphasis on the reforms and development of Macedonian football in the past period.
“The visit of Aleksander Čeferin is a true confirmation of our friendship and the sincere relationship we have with the UEFA leadership. It is particularly important for us that in the past year we have implemented serious reforms in several segments, from structural and organizational changes, through improving the infrastructure, to a clear strategy for the development of youth football. We shared valuable information about the situation in football in Macedonia and the region and openly discussed key topics. This support and understanding from UEFA is a strong incentive to continue with the reforms and develop Macedonian football at the highest possible level.” – said Omeragić.
He also had a series of praises for the Slovenian at the helm of UEFA.
“With knowledge, courage and determination, Ceferin has led European football through major challenges in recent years and we are all confident that he will continue to protect and develop European football in the same way as before. He has shown himself to be a person who is capable of simultaneously commercially developing UEFA’s elite competitions, from the Champions League to the European Championship, while at the same time protecting the base and investing in the development of football throughout Europe. We are proud of the excellent cooperation of our federation with UEFA.”
