Since the entire stadium erupted in boos when the national anthem of Bulgaria started playing before the Round 6 match of the Nations League match played on September 26, the anthem was impossible to hear, so it was the case for the UEFA delegate who reported that kind of behavior back to the headquarters in Nyon.
UEFA, citing “disturbances during the national anthems” according to Art. 16(2)(g) DR issued a fine of 10,000 Euros.
Keep in mind that the Bulgarian anthem was booed due to the people’s revolts towards the constant political and pseudohistorical provocations and insults from Bulgaria in the past couple of years. Bulgaria had already played in Macedonia several times and there was no such behavior.
UEFA match officials also noticed that several object were thrown from the stands which led to an additional time of 4,500 Euros according to Art. 16(2)(b) DR.
Therefore, FFM will have to pay a total of 14,500 Euros in fines.
Meanwhile UEFA confirmed that Todor Todoroski will serve only 1 match suspension for the direct red card.
