The game was even in the first half, with two chances in the 2nd and 24th minutes for Trajkov, who failed to score from good positions. The penalty arrived in the 38th minute, when the Armenians entered the opponent’s penalty area for the first time. Hakobyan assisted for Hovhannisyan and his shot finished behind the goalkeeper Djekov.

In the second half, Macedonia started more creatively and bravely, and this resulted in a goal by Trajkov in the 54th minute. After the corner taken by Hamza, Trajkov managed best in the crowd, and scored with a header.

In the 84th minute, The Armenian goalkeeper Davtyan didn’t intervene well on a seemingly harmless shot by Trajkov from his own half and conceded a somewhat “comic” goal.

By the end of the match, the young Macedonians again had the initiative and kept the score until the final whistle of the referee.

The next match of the U21 national team is on October 14 against Montenegro away.
