U19 stun Switzerland, Belgium; qualify to Elite Round

Macedonia is the host of the qualification tournament with the matches being played at the Petar Miloshevski Training Center and the Boris Trajkovski stadium.

In the fist two round the young Lynx had to face the group favorites Switzerland and Belgium. In both games Macedonia celebrated come from behind 2:1 wins with the winner being a converted penalty.

With maximum points from the two games Macedonia already booked a place in the final stage of the qualification. The last game against Liechtenstein, scheduled for Tuesday, will only serve as a morale and ranking boosted.

In the elite round, which will be played next spring, the 26 qualifiers will join Spain and Portugal who as top two seeds were given a bye, in seven mini-tournament groups of four. The group winners then join the hosts in the EURO.
