Macedonia U19 opened the 2014 U19 qualifications with a 1:4 defeat against their counterparts from Turkey.

Playing at Kukush Stadium, the home of Horizont Turnovo, Macedonia U19 opened Group 12 of the 2014 U19 qualifications with a 1:4 loss against Turkey.  The lone goal for Macedonia U19 was scored by Rabotnichki’s Demir Imeri in the 33rd minute via a penalty kick.  Turkey, however, scored two goals in each half to claim the three points.

Manager Alekso Mackov utilized the following lineup: Aleksovski, Ristovski (52′ Markovski), Trajkovikj, Zajkov, Talevski, Imeri, Bardi (65′ Bojku), Velkovski, Kostovski (73′ Sulejmanov), Stojanov, Radeski.

Macedonia U19 plays two more games, on 8 September against Montenegro U19 and 11 September against Faroe Islands U19, to determine if they will finish in the top two of Group 12.  In the other result from today, Montenegro U19 defeated Faroe Islands U19 5:0 in Strumica.  That means that the Macedonia vs. Montenegro game on 8 September will likely determine who finishes second behind Turkey U19 who looks to have the strongest team in the group.
