The young Macedonians started the EURO qualifying tournament with a draw against Croatia. Macedonia had an early lead which failed to keep.

Macedonia faced group favorites Croatia in the opening round of the qualifying tournament played in Czechia. Early in the 11th minute the young Lynx stunned the Croats when Berisha found Churlinov who beat Kotarski bringing Macedonia the lead.
In an equal play both teams created few chances but Macedonia kept the lead in until the break. Just ten minutes into the second half Croatia leveled the score. Bulat took a corner kick finding Boško Šutalo in the box who headed the ball behind Jakimovski.
None team managed to score a game winning goal and at the end the points got split.

Later today tournament hosts Czechia edged Luxembourg with a 2:1 win. The next round will be played on Saturday when the young Lynx will face the host team.
