U17: Macedonia – Poland 2:3

U17 national team lost their opening qualifying match against Poland U17.

Although Macedonia U17 had a 2:0 lead, they managed to note a defeat after Polish U17 national team overcame the deficit in the second half and celebrated a 3:2 win in the first qualifying match from the first phase for UEFA Under 17 championship. 

Macedonia is host of the group 13 and the matches are played in Skopje. Besides Macedonia and Poland, Belgium and Bulgaria are the other two participants. To view Jeton Nesimi’s called up players for the qualifying tournament, click here.

As for today’s match, Sabahudin Alomerovikj opened the scoreline in 17th minute and Strahinja Krstevski, who comes from Vojvodina, doubled Macedonia’s lead at the start of the second half. However, just 7 minutes later Kozak lowered Macedonia’s lead and in the last 10 minutes Poland managed to win this match. Visitors’ hero was substitute Siemaszko who scored two goals in the space of 4 minutes.

Macedonia played the match with the following line-up: Celeski; Bocevski, Alomerovikj, Aleksikj, Digalovski, Kurt, Georgiev, Zdravkovski, Mirchevski (63′ Petkovski), Krstevski, Lazarovski (55′ Jevtovski).

In the other game, Belgium defeated Bulgaria 2:0.

Macedonia’s next match is in two days, when they face Belgium on Boris Trajkovski stadium in Skopje.
