U17: Hungary wins first friendly

In the first of two friendlies this week, Macedonia U17 lost 2:0 to their counterparts from Hungary on Tuesday.

There are two different sides to this friendly. According to the official site of the Football Federation of Macedonia, the team played well despite the loss. They supposedly missed several good chances to score a goal, while the home side capitalized on the lack of concentration to grab two goals.

On the other end, the website of Hungary’s federation reported something completely different. Their recap read that Hungary dominated possession and created many dangerous attacks, while Macedonia could only muster sporadic counter-attacks that failed to pose a serious threat. One version is correct, but since the game was not streamed, it’s tough to say who is telling the truth.

The second match will be played on Thursday at the same venue.
