Ivan Trichkovski continued his solid recent play for Waasland-Beveren with a stunning goal in Saturday’s game against Zulte Waregem.

In the 28th round of league play in Belgium, Waasland-Beveren played host to Zulte Waregem, the 4th ranked team on the standings heading into the game.  Trichkovski started in attack for Waasland-Beveren and notched one goal in the 16th minute.  The goal was a beauty as it came on a long range shot from outside of the box to the top right corner.  The Zulte Waregem keeper made a diving attempt, but he could not save the well placed shot by Trichkovski that came from a tough angle.

This was only Ivan’s second goal of the season, but he has been playing much better lately after a slow start to the campaign.  Trichkovski has been collecting assists and his all-around game has been praised by Belgian newspapers over the past month or so.  After Saturday’s game, Ivan has now played in 25 of the 28 games for Waasland Beveren this season for a total of 2,089 minutes.  His other goal, besides Saturday’s one against Zulte Waregem, came in late December of last year against Club Brugge, the team that still owns his rights as they loaned him to Waasland-Beveren prior to the start of the season.

The next game for Trichkovski will be on 5 March when he is expected to suit up for the Macedonian national team in the friendly against Latvia.  Manager Boshko Gjurovski will be counting on Ivan to continue his good form while also representing Macedonia next Wednesday.
