Interim manager Zoran stratev announced a 24 player squad for the last two 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Serbia.
Stratev will try to impress the FFM leadership as interim manager in the final two qualifying games in order to remain at the helm moving forward. Stratev stated in a press conference that he does want to become permanent manager, and will use these games to showcase himself to FFM.
In order to achieve good results on the last two games, both away, Stratev called up 3 players that weren’t in the last squad, among which includes one debutant in U21 left back Ezgjan Alioski of Swiss second division side Schauffhausen. Besides Alioski, returning to the squad are Muhamed Demiri, who has recovered following a lengthy injury, as well as the best player from the domestic league in Turnovo’s Dejan Blazhevski. Stratev dropped defenders Aleksandar Lazevski and Daniel Ivanovski, while Goran Popov and Ferhan Hasani remain outside out of the national team.
