Aco Stojkov had an excellent start with his new team Botoșani as he scored a late game winner to bring his team three points.
The 30-year-old Stojkov, who was cleared to play on Sunday after missing Botoșani’s game last week due to document issues, started on the bench before he was introduced in the 70th minute to take the place of Attila Hadnagy. In the first minute of stoppage time in the 90th minute, Stojkov was fortunate as the ball came before him and he pounced to score the game winning goal in his debut.

That goal gave Botoșani a 2:1 victory over Brașov who was livid with the referee for allowing the goal. They felt their keeper was fouled by Botoșani striker George Cârjan before Stojkov scored his goal. However, the referee saw nothing wrong and the goal by Stojkov stood. Aco joined Botoșani earlier in the winter after last playing for Vardar for about a year.
