Stojanov extends contract with Bregalnica

Center-back Darko Stojanov has decided to extend his contract with Bregalnica for one more season.

The club from Shtip has successfully solved one of its main priorities this summer, retaining central defender Darko Stojanov. The 25-year-old was part of a defense that set a new record in the domestic league by going 912 minutes without conceding a goal. His decision to sign a one year extension allows Bregalnica to address other needs on the team.

Speaking to Stipski Sport, Stojanov stated, “I’m happy to stay at the club, but I don’t want to hide the main reason for that decision being Vlatko Kostov. Under him, Bregalnica played with great confidence and that means we can only move up to a better place next season. We will achieve better results and make our fans happy.”

The next task for Bregalnica is to find a replacement for goalkeeper Filip Gachevski who moved to Vardar. Also, striker Boško Stupić left the club, most probably to sign with a team in his native Bosnia-Herzegovina.
