He just turned 19 and has never played in Europe, so Shkupi will be his first club on the old continent. He comes from the Cano Sport Academy, a local Equatorial Guinean side. As revealed on the club’s official web site, Shkupi payed €60.000 for him.
Basilio started in all three games for his national team in the group stage of the 2018 African Nations Championship missing only four missing as once was substituted in the 86th minute. Equatorial Guinea lost every match and headed home early after finishing last behind Libya, Rwanda and Nigeria. Keep in mind that in this competition the national teams can only summon players that play in their domestic leagues. Regardless of that, all of the matches are recognized by FIFA as first team matches.
Basilio meets his new teammates on his first training. At the end of the video he says “Pozdrav Skupi” which in Macedonian means “Hi Shkupi” with a little mispronunciation of the club’s name.
