UEFA held the draw for the Conference League playoffs in Nyon this afternoon, where for the first time participated a Macedonian team – Shkëndija from Tetovo.

Given that, according to the final standings in the completed league phase, it was already known who Shkëndija’s possible opponents were, the only question was whether it would be the Polish side Lech Poznań or the Turkish team Samsunspor.

The draw decided that Shkëndija will play against Samsunspor, currently sixth in the Turkish Süper Lig.

If they manage to eliminate the Turkish side, the Tetovo based team will play against the Shakhtar (Ukraine) or the Rayo Vallecano (Spain) in the Round of 16.

The playoff matches are scheduled for 19 February (Thursday) when Shkëndija will host Samsunspor in Skopje, while the return match in Samsun is seven days later.

Then, on 27 February, the draw for the Round of 16 will follow.
